Welcome to the Wingaersheek Improvement Association Website
Our community is made up of over 300 families surrounding Wingaersheek and Coffins Beach. All the families work together to keep this special place safe, inviting, and clean for all who reside here. Our community is managed by the Wingaersheek Improvement Association (WIA), which is comprised of 6 sections known as Waterman, Davis, Hawks, Bayle, Sandy Way, and Upper Beach. The mission of the WIA is to preserve and enhance the special character of our beach community and strive to foster a family-oriented atmosphere where children and adults can be comfortable and safe.
The day-to-day operations of the WIA are conducted by its volunteer Executive Board which is comprised of its officers and representatives from each of the six sections. All major decisions are presented to the general membership for vote at the Association’s annual meeting, which is held on the first Saturday after the 4th of July in the Davis parking area.
Each section has its own board to deal with specific issues related to their section. These section boards usually meet in May and then present their recommendations for their budget and plans for the upcoming summer. Each section holds their own meeting to review the budget and discuss summer plans and activities with the residents in their section.
